Dr. Wesler Devesin spent his entire childhood in Haiti. He graduated High School in 1988. In 1994, he earned a Bachelor degree in Communications and Journalism at State University of Haiti. In 1995, he immigrated to the United States. In 1999, he graduated at Miami Dade Community College with an Associate in Computer Science. In 2009, he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Information Technology at Colorado Technical University. In 2010, he earned a Master’s Degree in Management with a concentration in information Systems Security at Colorado Technical University. He also has certified in many areas in IT, such as Management and Leadership. Four years later he completed his Doctorate in Management with a concentration in Global Leadership at Colorado Technical University. His dissertation topic: Is a Global Fortune 500 Company Prepared in Helping Current Leadership Through a Transitional Period?
During his 18 years of experience in Information Technology and Management, he collaborated with Project managers and Senior Executive Managers in North America, Central, and South America. He processed the leadership and ability to dealing with management at all levels—upper and lower.
Throughout his research, he has learned that succession planning is considered as the backbone and the future of an organization. He gave many presentations and lectures on Succession Planning, Global leadership, Management and Public Speaking. Communication is an important key and skill to Dr. Wesler. He reads, writes, and speaks: Creole, French and English. Due to this advantage he has delivered many speeches and presentations in the US as well as abroad. He loves to speak and enjoys sharing the knowledge.
Besides work, he does extra activities and have been a member of Toastmasters International for 4 years. Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization that helps people around the world to improve their leadership and communication skills. Furthermore, he is involved in their leadership team as past club President and Area Director, and now Vice President of Education at Southern Crescent Toastmasters Club.
His hobbies include dancing Kompa, Salsa, playing Golf, playing volleyball with his oldest daughter; reading, speaking, traveling, photography and having academic and spiritual debates at breakfast with his two daughters and wife.
The best way to capture Dr. Wesler’s essence is to quote one of his students that, “Dr. Wesler, a guy from Haiti who has the desire to want more in life and the dedication to obtain whatever he puts his mind to.”
