Sharon Davis Brown Ph.D, BC-DMT, CMA, LMHC is an entrepreneur, academic, business, executive, and life coach, researcher, and scholar/practitioner. She is the founder of the Art of Business Coaching, an arts-based coaching practice. She specializes in nonverbal communication and behavior, embodied leadership, and team dynamics. She is an advisory board member to Orgdyne Training and Consulting, LLC.

Sharon has over 5 years of coaching experience and 29 years working in the mental health field. She has taught in higher education for 7 years. She has dedicated her professional life to helping others (individuals, groups, leaders, and small teams) to meet their professional and personal goals.

Sharon's expertise includes nonverbal communication and behavior, embodied leadership, applied arts-based model (visual and kinesthetic) to promote change, creativity, Laban Movement Analysis, group dynamics, and organizational team development. She wrote her dissertation titled Nonverbal Communication and Behavior of Supervisor/Subordinate Dyads where she continues to conduct research on this topic. She is currently writing a book chapter titled Authentic Leadership-Embodied Leadership-Followership: From a Multi-Cultural Perspective (due out in 2017). Sharon has presented It Takes Two to Tango: Learning to Lead and Follow at various educational and business venues. She presents interactive workshops to facilitate awareness about leadership and followership roles, and how these skills can be applied in business environments.

She was formerly an outpatient clinician working with high functioning individuals, families, and couples. She has worked with frail and well-elders, children with developmental delays, and forensic population. She worked as a consultant to schools delivering dance/movement therapy to children and adolescents.

Sharon earned her Ph.D in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University. She holds an MA in Human and Organizational Systems and certified as an evidence-based coach from Fielding. She earned a second MA in Expressive Therapies with a specialization in dance/movement therapy from Lesley College (now university), and a BA in psychology from Antioch College. She is a board-certified dance/movement therapist (BC-DMT) with the American Dance Therapy Association, a certified movement analyst (CMA) from the Laban Institute of Movement Studies, and licensed as a mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts.
