Thomas Martin Ringer, BE (hons), M.Ed.
(Thomas) Martin Ringer (B.E [hons]; M.Ed) has operated a small independent organizational consultancy business since 1992. He is a New Zealand citizen but having adult children enables him and his wife Francoise to run their business from multiple bases, that is, in New Zealand, Australia and France.
Martin has published widely, including a book on group and organizational dynamics and many papers on organizational behavior and on "adventure therapy" which involves the integration of experiential learning with active approaches to therapeutic change using the outdoors as a medium. His current field of study and writing is exploring ways in which organizations can harness the collective knowledge and intelligence of teams.
Martin's approach to organizational consulting is informed by a growing understanding of both conscious and unconscious processes in groups, teams and organizations. Current major projects include facilitating the two most senior levels of the Joint Venture Partnership of a large new gas field and LNG facilities off the north west of Australia; developing the capacity of (multinational) organizations to run their own experiential programs to develop team effectiveness and leadership capacity in their organizations, and working directly with leadership teams to enable them to harness their collective intelligence and knowledge.
Martin's aspirations for the future are to be a part of a reflective group of practitioners and theoreticians who engage enthusiastically with each other to develop their thinking and their practice. For more information see www.martinringer.com

Naomi Raab
Naomi Raab is an experienced organisational consultant with many years spent assisting leaders and their teams. She works with organisations large and small, with leaders around change and conflict in their organisations.
Naomi tends to get called in when there are painful feelings in the transition from one culture to another, when the usual solutions have failed, and when teams are so stuck or disillusioned, that they're prepared to finally deal with the real issues. Naomi works with them to develop cohesion and to re-connect. Her main work is helping clients rebuild healthy cultures. This involves identifying and resolving the underlying cause of problems: because of that, the work provides long term sustainable solutions. Naomi doesn't offer any pre packaged or one size fits all solutions. Instead, she works to open up a different kind of space, freeing up teams to get on with the primary task more effectively. To achieve this, her interventions involve a more open ended process on a number of levels - organisational, team, interpersonal and individual.
Naomi also works one on one with CEO's, senior managers and consultants through a process called Professional Supervision in which clients are assisted to get some perspective on what's really happening within their organisation as well as seeing how their personal issues impact on their work roles. This gives the organisation more resilient and self aware leaders, less likely to act out in inappropriate ways.
Human Resources Practitioners have particularly been drawn to the Professional Supervision process as well as to the workshops conducted by Naomi specifically for HR consultants. Issues explored include the ways in which confidentiality can corrupt and undermine the HR role, anxiety, the difficulty of taking up authority and the double agent games HR practitioners can find themselves playing.
Naomi has a particular interest in gender issues and work with men and women in organisations. She also runs an ongoing Women's Group which combines professional supervision and personal growth. Through this process the women are helped to access their strength, authority and tenderness in their personal and professional relationships.
Naomi has a Masters in Business from RMIT University where she also worked as an academic running a long standing Masters program in Organisation Dynamics and Consulting practice. Currently Naomi is working in her own practice with both organisational and individual clients.

Goffredo Diana, PhD

For the last two years of high school until obtaining his PhD, Goffredo Diana studied in North America and Spain. He then joined a large US hospital system and became involved in its international operations. Since then, and for the past ten years, Goffredo has worked as liaison contributing to the development of a unique partnership that brought about the creation of a highly successful transplant center in Sicily. He chose to leave the project after its start-up phase was completed and it became self-sufficient in the Italian National Health Care System. Since then, he decided to remain on this island in the middle of the Mediterranean because he believes that this is a very rich and fertile land. Because of its past history and its potential future, the multicultural encounter among peoples and businesses shall lead to the creation of an intercultural reality where overall quality of life can grow, without hampering business opportunities and entrepreneurship.
In the past, Goffredo has used his competencies as interpreter and negotiator in a number of different circumstances, and even though he has worked mainly in the health care environment, the range of his activities has been so broad as to include HR management, procurement processes, clinical procedures, higher education certifications etc. As a start-up manager he has been successful at facilitating a productive interaction between counterparts (e.g. US business delegation and Sicilian public servants) with very deep, and potentially destructive, differences. As a consultant, he provides support mainly in areas that require analytical skills (e.g. processes of recognition of professional titles or visa and work permit procedures) and, at the same time, reliability and creative problem solving.
As a counselor, Goffredo is committed to giving to this profession the recognition and dignity it has earned in many parts of the world. Unfortunately, and this is particularly true in Sicily, people who live through moments of crisis do not realize that professionals can be of support without trying to impose a treatment for a disease. Finally, he has acted on his commitment to interculturalism by creating, together with others (all of whom live in Central-Northern Italy while he is the only Sicilian), the Italian chapter of the International Society for Intercultural Education, Training, and Research (SIETAR). Goffredo considers his assets as a negotiator, relocation services specialist, and advanced linguistic needs resource (interpreting, translating, customized training) to be of great use to any organization. As a member of the "Coach Consultants Consortium", he hopes to serve as a point of reference for others in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

Cynthia Rogers addresses the awkward business and clinical questions faced by those in independent practice, in her book 'Psychotherapy and Counselling: A Professional Business' Wiley 2004. She is particularly interested in challenging unconscious cultural assumptions. For over twenty years she has taught, supervised and practiced as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. As a Group Analyst she brings to organisational consultancy a unique perspective, which sees the individual in the context of the group. This constantly shifting focus between the individual and the group is grounded in the sociological theories of Norbert Elias, G. H. Mead and Complexity theory. As a visiting tutor and researcher at Goldsmiths College, London University, Cynthia is looking at "professionalisation." Another research interest is "international online supervision." Valued as a keynote speaker, her most recent critically acclaimed workshop was entitled Projective Processes to Social Intelligence - How can the Group Process be harnessed?

Henk Greyvenstein
Henk was born in the South African coastal town of Durban, known for its endless miles of golden beaches and home to a strong local rugby team called the Sharks. Along with his wife Lucy and daughter Emma, they live in Pretoria which is about 40km away from Johannesburg where Henk does most of his work. A true ENFJ, Henk knows and appreciates people and enjoys serving others. Loyalty, commitment, and responsibility are important values as is a work setting that is focused on changing things for the common good and betterment of all.
Armed with a MBA, Henk applied to the University of Pretoria to commence with a PhD in Organisational Behaviour in 2010. He also holds several qualifications in Organisation Development (OD) which is also where his experience lies.
A former senior officer in the South African Air Force, Henk led a small internal OD team that focused on process and organisation design, job design and evaluation, capacity modeling, as well as change management. Henk has personal experience in facilitation for decision making, strategic planning, leadership development, culture measurement and change, and team development. Passionate about learning and energised by people, Henk enjoys facilitating learning events where groups or individuals are coached towards optimal behaviour. At present, Henk is conducting change management on major projects for clients in the petro-chemical industry.
Henk’s passion is “system psychodynamics” in the Tavistock tradition. Few things are as satisfying as shedding light for groups on their unconscious dynamics - ideas, perceptions, relationships, and feelings that are consciously unavailable due to the intense anxiety they arouse. By offering an alternative “container” for these dynamics (through an intervention of sorts), those aspects of the dynamics that were contained in a specific manner prior to the intervention, would typically now find containment in a different manner which usually signifies some organisation learning having taken place.
In future, Henk wishes to become involved in academia part-time whilst continuing his consulting career. He welcomes global academic and professional inquiries. His motto: people matter.
